Hi Just an update from Diane :
I accidentally got the name of the autograph show wrong. It used to be the "Hollywood Collectors Show", but now it is called "The Hollywood Celebrity Show", it will be held at the Burbank Airport Marriot Hotel in Southern California. Thank you so much! Lots of Love, Diane

Hello,
I just wanna say that You Rock! The character of "Monique" will always be my first crush : ) Really wish I could have been to the show. All the best in your future endeavors.
J.
I have 2 questions that might be useful for Diane's autobiography. The first question: Which film or T.V. character was the most rewarding or challenging for her to play? The second question: What other profession would she have chosen if not acting (art, singing, etc.)?
I have two questions for Diane that might be helpful for her biography. Question one: Which film or T.V. character was the most rewarding and/or challenging for you to play as an actress? Second question: If you could choose another profession that was just as rewarding as acting, what would it be and why? - Matt
To Diane,
I'm sorry if it seems as though I'm bombarding you with the same two questions for your biography. As you can probably tell, I've yet to perfect the art of posting messages on blog sites (LOL).
Anyway, I hope you're doing okay and I hope that your biography turns out to be a complete success. -Matt
I think I'm finally getting the hang of this "posting messages" thing... I am SO embarassed for leaving five messages of the SAME TWO QUESTIONS for Diane. Mark, I owe you and Diane both an apology BIG time! Please forgive me, both of you.
I forgot to mention this in my last posting: Late one night about a year ago (maybe two years ago - I can't quite remember), I turned on "TCM Underground" and watched TerrorVision for the first time ever. This movie is hilarious! I couldn't help but think to myself that this is what would've happened if John Hughes and Stanley Kubrick ever ended up getting stoned and working on a sci - fi/ horror story together. I hope TCM keeps this movie in its "Underground" rotation. It is truly a classic. - Matt
Hahaha thanks matt for your comments, normally i get an email to say someone has left a comment ,I then check message and if its ok I let it be published, Ive been away on holiday and only now had chance to let you messages be published, so sorry matt it took so long, im sure when Diane reads the messages she will be impressed, thanks Matt
Mark,
I hope you had a great holiday and welcome back.
You might know the answer to this (Diane certainly would)... Has Diane ever hosted "Saturday Night Live" ? If not, I don't know why. She would make a GREAT host on SNL if she hasn't done it already. However, I must admit that Betty White would be a tough act to follow now (lol).
Anyway, even if Diane has already hosted SNL earlier in her career, it would be great to see her return to host another show.
Have a great day and GO RAYS!
-Matt
As I was scrolling down and reading my past messages, it suddenly occured to me that my thoughts are coming out sooner than my fingers can type them (ahem). So with your permission Mark, I would like to make another attempt at expressing my thoughts on the movie entitled "TerrorVision" for anyone who has never seen it and might happen to read this. Put simply, if you can imagine John Hughes and Stanley Kubrick getting together with Sid and Marty Kroft ("H.R. Puffinstuff, "Land Of The Lost",etc.) and writing a screenplay for a science fiction/horror film, chances are it would've ended up looking very similar to "TerrorVision". In layman's terms, it is one of the weirdest (and funniest) movies out there and I highly recommend it for anyone who would like to see Diane as one the funniest characters that she has ever played on film. -Matt
nice,,tanx
Hi there! I've been searching the world over for a copy of Diane's movie "Summer Girl"...can't find it anywhere!! I love that movie - I was about 7 years old when I saw it, but remember it like it was yesterday! Would love to find out if anyone knows where I can find a copy - I've tried ebay, best buy, and amazon. I've even linked through imdb for clues and can't find it anywhere!! How can this be? It was such a great movie!! And Diane, as usual, was magnificent!! :) Any help on locating a copy of the movie would be sooo appreciated!! :) Thanks!
Thanks Matt, your comments are always welcome.
To Amy (26 May)...
I'm assuming that "Summer Girl" was a made - for - T.V. movie released in 1983. If that's the case, then you might have a real conundrum on your hands trying to find it on DVD. I've been having the same problem with finding some of Diane's later films after "TerrorVision". In fact, I'm still hoping to find some of her more recent work like "Punchcard Player" in the not - too - distant future (I might end up needing Mark's help in order to find that one).
Anyway, I hope that your search for "Summer Girl" is successful.
-Matt
Hi Matt, I have all Dianes films, on dvd, even Terrorvision and Punchcard Player, I have emailed Amy re Summer Girl, copies are available from me for a small fee dependant on location, some of the fee to go to Diane as part of royalties.
Mark...
Thanks for letting me know that you have extra copies of Diane's movies on DVD. Hopefully Amy will be in touch with you if she's unable to find "Summer Girl" elsewhere.
As for me, there might still be one other way to find "Punchcard Player" and "TerrorVision" without ordering online. There's an audio/video store not far from my residence that can order CDs and DVDs if they don't already have them in stock. If they can order albums by Utopia and Gentle Giant for me on CD, then surely they can get "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player" as well. I'll keep you posted on my progress (or lack of, depending on the situation).
Thank you for being such a devoted fan of Diane's and keep up the good work. -Matt
To Mark:
I just wanted you to know that I was finally able to include a photo of myself in the follower's list.I'm the one wearing Joker makeup (I was at a comics convention when the photo was taken).
Anyway, I'll be going to that audio/video store that I told you about sometime this week to check on whether or not I can order "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player". I'll let you know what the results were.
Have a great day and take care.
-Matt
Diane,
I had a crush on you of a billion suns back in the 1980s. Seeing you today, it's hard to believe you've aged at all. I just today realized the connection to most every girl I have ever dated or liked resembled you in some way. No, no, fear not - my crush will always remain at a distance. I just wish you were in more movies. I admire the way you tackled the K12 and your car repair skills and I, too, would have probably sold my stereo for you in 1982. Do you make any East Coast (i.e. near Philly) appearances? As for the biography, I agree with doing the DVD and starting from the beginning of your career. I would like to know the answer to the following questions: A) Which roles have you turned down that you regret? B) If you could have played any role in any movie ever made, which would it be and why? and C) What was your first concert? Thanks for entertaining my post and questions and I wish you nothing but the best.
To Mark:
Well, I tried to find out if I could order "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player" at the audio/video store that I mentioned previously. There's something a little odd about a place that can order Japanese imports of Utopia CDs but they can't order "TerrorVision" on DVD... WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?! (lol)
Anyway, if you could leave a message on how I could order "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player" from you, I would greatly appreciate it.
Have a great weekend and take care. -Matt
Hi Matt, the place to buy a copy of Terrorvision is www.ioffer.com , currently there are 16 copies for sale from sellers in the USA, if they have all sold out then get back to me and I can make one for you but it will probably be cheaper to buy one from a seller in the US due to postage from the U.K being so expensive, regarding Punchcard Player try www.amazon.com they currently have the film for sale and its where I bought mine from 2 yrs ago, hope this helps my friend, any probs give me the nod ,cheers buddy
To Mark:
Thanks for the information regarding where to find "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player". I'll be ordering them A.S.A.P. I'm guessing that Diane's busy working on her biography now. If not, maybe she's working on a new project. Either way, I'm sure she's going to have GREAT news to report when she posts her next message.
By the way, I've added a couple of new photos of myself from the comics convention on my blog. If you get a chance, check them out.
Have a great day and hope to hear from you soon. -Matt
To Diane:
As I was reading your interview for Mark on his site, I noticed your statement about how you would have loved to work with Woody Allen, Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Ben Stiller, Robert Redford, Christopher Guest (who is hilarious in "This Is Spinal Tap", by the way) and Robert DeNiro.
I don't mean to sound naive, but I'm wondering why you couldn't work with these people NOW.
Personally, I could see you working in films today with any of them. And as a result of working with them, I could also see you earning nominations for Best Actress or Best Supporting Actress - nominations that have been long overdue, as far as I'm concerned.
As versatile at playing characters as you are, winning an Oscar or a Golden Globe would be anything but a fluke. And with names like Woody Allen, Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Ben Stiller, Robert Redford, Christopher Guest and Robert DeNiro, your chances of reaching that level are just as good now as they have been at any other point in your career. Sincerely,
Matt
To Mark and/or Diane:
I came up with a funny idea for a "Monique Junot" T-shirt. On the front, an image or photo of Diane as "Monique" with the caption, WHEN LIFE HANDS YOU GRAPEFRUIT... And on the back of the shirt, an image of a "No Parking" sign with pieces of grapefruit stuck to it.
Not that there's anything wrong with the already - existing "Monique" T-shirts that Diane sells. I just thought it would make a funny addition to what she already has available.
Have a great day and take care,
Matt
Oh D..i..a..n..e..let's get a bit more chatty or i'll have to keep you after class!
:)
To Mark:
I just wanted to say hello and to let you in on some recent developments. First, I've had to put off ordering "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player" due to having to pay for the removal of a virus from my computer. I'm also having to save a little more $$$ than I thought I would lately. But as soon as I can afford to order "TerrorVision" and "Punchcard Player", I will be doing so.
I've also discovered that Diane has a site on Facebook as well. I'm a little hesitant about joining Facebook (I have enough hassles keeping viruses out while using the internet, lol).
I'll be attending another comics convention on July 11th and I'm hoping to add some new photos to my blog site. Maybe this time around I can get a photo of myself with a hot - looking Harlee Quinn!
I hope you're doing okay and I hope to hear from you soon. -Matt
To Mark:
I just found an episode of an HBO series from the early 90s called "Encyclopedia Brown And The Ghostly Rider" on YouTube. The episode was directed by Savage Steve Holland and Diane plays a character in it as well. I just discovered this myself, so I'm not sure if Diane's character was on the series more than once. However, the character of "Encyclopedia Brown" was apparently created by Savage Steve Holland. And considering how much Diane enjoys working with him, it wouldn't surprise me if she did more episodes.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share this with you and I hope you're doing okay. -Matt
