Hi Everyone,

I am going to be at Chiller on Halloween weekend. I have finished my book and am having it edited now. I am going to either self-publish or look for a publisher to help me with larger distribution, In the meantime, I plan to have some special preview books that will be available at the show. Hello Fans, I have a very special event to share with you! This Saturday, on December 11th at 4pm I will be appearing at the AERO THEATER in Santa Monica, LIVE!! for the film premiere of the comedic trilogy, The Adventures of Lass I, II, & III, written, directed, edited (and also acted) by my 14 year old daughter, Olivia DeLaurentis. The Adventures of Lass I, winner of the ISFFH 2008 award, is a parody immigrant life, in the late 1800's, in a mythical place called Sc'Ireland, where a young girl named Lass, (Olivia DeLaurentis), has to deal with her dysfunctional family (DIANE FRANKLIN), while trying to keep her pet chicken from keeling over. The Adventures of Lass II: The Sweet Potato Rush parodies the Gold Rush and The Adventures of Lass III: Going to A-Mary-Ca parodies the voyage to America. To all of you who have wished me a Happy Birthday, I am truly touched! It is an honor to be remembered and have such caring fans. In addition, I met some wonderful fans at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, CA recently,where I did a Q and A for "Better Off Dead", with director Steve Holland, actress, E.G. Daily and actor, Curtis Armstrong. It was so much fun seeing Savage, Curtis and E.G. again and hearing the audiences' laughter during the film! I even brought the original coat I wore in BOD for fans to try on while taking a picture with me! It was very popular and frankly looked great on women and men! I was very fortunate be chsen to play "Monique" and am very proud of the film! Upcoming news, I will be attending a special midnight screening of my first feature film "Last American Virgin" at the Beverly Cinema Theater, in Los Angeles on February 13th, 2010. I will be joined by some other members of the cast to open the movie at around 11:30pm. So, if you are interested, come early! I hope you are all doing well! I had an idea and question I wanted to run by any of my fantastic fans who might be interested. The first question is this: would fans prefer a "book" memoir or a "DVD" memoir? It occurred to me in this day and age that a DVD may be more interesting because you see the actual performer talking about their lives, instead of words in a book that could be edited by someone else or perhaps not capturing the performer's cadence. The second question is this: I thought it might be a nice idea to include fans' questions with their name and city of residence. (With their written permission of course.) I certainly would not be even thinking of doing this if it were not for the really awesome fans who want to know. Please let me know what you think.

Today I recieved an email with a little message to Diane so here it is, enjoy people.

Diane Franklin has to be one of the most amazing movie and TV talents of our time. We all remember her through the 80's and she is still on the hearts and minds of many today. I'm one of the Millions who grew up adoring her and always waiting for her next role. I wanted to share a story with you.

I reached out to Mark who runs her fan site. He is another person whom you should have in your life. He is friendly, honest and willing to do anything possible to help you learn more about Diane. He lead me in the direction of the fan club and I wrote a letter. I wasn't sure if I was going to have any correspondence or just know that I sent something that made me feel good. I sent a letter of appreciation for her contribution to screen and for her devotion to her craft and life.

I received a letter from her that made my life!! She actually took the time to sign two autographs and write me a letter that I will frame and have on my wall this weekend. In this day of people who are all about themselves and asking for the extra million, Diane is as sweet and sincere as we all remember. She is a breath of fresh air and the template for how the world should be. I just wanted to Thank-you Diane for the bottom of my heart. You will always be my favorite actress and now you are one of my favorite people. You are strong, kind and a leader in your field. I can only pray that your fellow actors will follow your defining example.

Ok people here it is, what you have all been waiting for, my interview with Diane.

This interview answers some of the questions people have sent in regarding Diane Franklin so I asked Diane and here are her answers:

"At the age of 4, I stood up in restaurants and sang to the musak! I was a very expressive kid. Although, neither of my parents were in the entertainment industry, they were both very supportive of my desire to perform. They brought me to an agent who thought my hair was "too short and curly" and did not sign me. (It is ironic that "my hair" is what contributed to my success. It just goes to show how important it is to "be yourself"). Anyway, I did not give up. I took singing and dancing lessons until the age of 10 and was eventually accepted by an agent. During this time, my family did not have a lot of money, so "television" was my main source of entertainment.

I loved watching Marlo Thomas, an actress in the 70's television series "That Girl". She was the only young "dark haired" actress on television and I really identified with her! Although, I don't remember telling my friends I was going to be an actress, I think I just attracted friends who could accept it. From age 10 to 14, I did commercials, modelling, fashion shows, industrials and voice -over, all while going to a public school.

I really enjoyed having a normal life, while pursuing an acting career. (I was very fortunate to do this.) At 15, I was hired in a professional play called "The Happy Journey From Camden to Trenton". It was very exciting, and I learned a tremendous amount about theatre. At 17, I recurred on a television soap opera, "As The World Turns". Where I played a trouble-making teenager, Lois Middleton, although, in real life I was quite the opposite! During this time, I also was performing in my high school plays, which I loved. I was cast as Leisel in "The Sound of Music", Sarah In "Guys and Dolls" and Rosemary in "How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying".

Because I acted so early, I was able to save up money for college. I started attending NYU and continued auditioning. Some of the films I was up for were "Karate Kid", "Exorcist", "Freaky Friday" (the original), "Amadeus", "Once Upon a Time in America" to name a few. I would have loved to work with Woody Allen, Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Ben Stiller, Robert Redford, Christopher Guest and Robert De Niro, but I think I was too young. As far as romance with actors goes, I'll put those details in my memoirs! I've had crushes on all my leading men. (As an actress, you need to find something loveable about each guy, whether they are your type or not.) In my case, I've been pretty lucky that my leading men were all attractive to me.

My personal weakness is chocolate! I love dark chocolate the most! Godiva, Hershey, I have a sweet tooth! My perfect breakfast is a chocolate croissant, muffin or scone and coffee! (Although, when I'm acting, I skip the coffee!).

I don't know when I'll get a chance to visit the U.K. again. (I shot "Bill and Ted's" in England), but perhaps work will bring me there in the future! Recently, I completed "The Adventures of Lass", a very funny mockumentary, which won an award for "Best Parody" at the ISFFH. I still feel I have a lot to offer acting wise and look forward to more film and television work. I've written and illustrated a children's book (which I am presently looking for a publisher), sung the national anthem at Dodger Stadium, which was received very well and was a thrilling experience and have the most amazing family!,

I have to thank Brandy, in Texas as my first customer to my merchandise site! Thank you, Brandy! And I also want to say to anyone on this site, I am honoured that you took the time to read this! (It is a true complement to be remembered from the 80's!!)

Thanks for the comments about Diane, I wish I had gone to high school with her! if I had I would be married to her now, it looks like Diane went down a storm at the recent Hollywood collectors show and I do have some pictures but cant put them on the site till I have permission from the owner so bummer!! you will have to wait. Finaly last night I managed to purchase the last film of Diane's that I am collecting, the only exception being Punchcard Player which is not out till Sept 07.
I managed to get hold of Summer Girl, Terrorvision, Deadly Lessons and Dallas The Early Years, talk about excited. I also have on going enquiries re Freddys Nightmare The Bride Wore Red, I have spoke to a couple of people who have this on dvd and its all down to negotiation, will keep you posted.
